Hemorrhoids are basically of two types internal and external. Internal hemroids are those that occur within the rectum. The fact with the internal hemorrhoids is that they are less painful because the area inside the rectum is having very few pain receptors. This is the reason that most of the patients are nor able to understand that they are suffering from internal hemorrhoids. Also there is slight bleeding connected to this type of internal hemorrhoids thus they are not very painful but can cause shock waves.

There are large numbers of doctors that can guarantee you a cure from internal hemroids. But you must have complete diagnoses before going for a treatment. Before prescribing any medication the doctor has to perform a complete rectal examination. He has to understand the abnormalities around the anus, especially for internal hemorrhoids. For this the doctors have gloves and lubricated fingers to test the presence of hemorrhoids. The external hemorrhoids are much easier to detect as they can be seen from naked eyes and hence can be visually examined.

Well the process of internal hemorrhoids diagnoses is much more complex then what it sounds. The doctor has to insert thin tube-like instrument known as the anoscope inside your rectum, for few inches. This device is specifically made for hemorrhoids detection only; it has a light beam at one end and an eyepiece at the face for presentation into the anal canal. Diagnosis may also include colonoscopy to look for further reasons of bleeding around the anus. Sigmoidoscopy is another form of detecting these hemorrhoids as it involves an assessment of the rectum and the final part of the colon called the sigmoid colon.

The diagnosis of internal hemorrhoids itself poses really difficulties. For internal hemorrhoids the doctors has to use retro flexion of the bendable sigmoid scope near the anal rectum junction. After this examination of the hemorrhoids the doctors go for a digital examination.

The fact that hemorrhoids are looked down as a serious disorder or malfunction of rectum area is due to the fact that these plumps make it so uncomfortable for you to work properly that you will die to get rid of them. External hemorrhoids are even more painful and visually disturbing then the internal hemroids. The main reason for these hemorrhoids to creep in is the unhygienic methods followed by individuals in their daily routine and lack of roughage in the food. If you can cross check on these small things you can surely get rid of these ugly plumps.

External Hemroids

Posted by: admin  :  Category: Uncategorized, internal hemroids

External hemroids, as the name suggests are those hemorrhoids that occur outside the anus. These hemorrhoids are painful in comparison to internal hemorrhoids. The most common side effects of external hemorrhoids is swelling and itching, around the hemorrhoid area. Itching however does not always guarantee that it is a hemorrhoid. The significant causes for these plumps to show up include excessive straining during bowel movement and excessive pressure on rectal veins because of bad sitting habits. One of the most insignificant reason that is considered as a hemorrhoid cause is portal hypertension. It is hard to understand the link between the two, hypertension and hemorrhoid, but it is true that hypertension can result into external hemorrhoid because of portacaval anastomoses.

You must have heard that obese persons are more frequently a victim of hemorrhoids; it is because of their prolonged sitting habits. Thus it is recommended not to have prolonged sittings. It is always better if you can stand up or take a walk for sometime to give some blood flow to your lower body. Thus it is highly recommended to stay away from a sedentary lifestyle so that you do not encounter any such problem.

Symptoms of external hemorrhoids

Symptoms of external hemorrhoids are throbbing inflammation or kind of protrusion around the most delicate areas of the body, the anus. All this happens as a result of blood clot around the rectum area. This thing is also sometimes referred as thromboses external hemorrhoid.

Other factors that can lead to external hemroids are unnecessary straining, resistance, or onslaught around the anus which produces a feeling of irritation. Finally you will get some bleeding and burning around the area and then it all starts to feel like a horror movie with all the symptoms coming up one after another.

External Hemroid are not something that one should get frightened of. These are normal defects that can show up in life, and are a common experience with both males and females. These things become frequent as you grow and are at their maximum probability during your 50s. Senior citizens are thus normal victims of these hemorrhoids. Pregnancy can also cause hemorrhoids in some females because of the excessive pressure of the fetus in the stomach, as healthy as hormonal changes, cause the hemorrhoid vessels to make bigger. External hemorrhoids are even more painful and visually disturbing then the internal hemorrhoids. The main reason for these hemorrhoids to creep in is the unhygienic methods followed by individuals in their daily routine and lack of roughage in the food. If you can cross check on these small things you can surely get rid of these ugly plumps.

Methods to treat eternal hemorrhoids

For the treatment of external hemroids, one of three methods is used:

1. Infrared Photocoagulation

2. Laser Coagulation

3. Hemorrhoidectomy

For many years, when the medical science was still making inroads into the development it has got today, hemorrhoids were looked down as a serious disorder or malfunction of rectum area is due to the fact that these plumps make it so uncomfortable for people to work properly. But now with the advent of new technology we can get rid of these hemorrhoids easily.

Oh and im a 19 year old male,

I'm a nurse and there is an outpatient treatment called infrared for hemorrhoids. I would call the doctor and see a doctor that does these. You can be out of the clinic in less than 30 minutes with little or no discomfort. You will be able to do all you need to the day after the procedure. Take care and all the best.

Causes

Increased straining during bowel movements, by constipation or diarrhea, may lead to hemorrhoids. It is thus a common condition due to constipation caused by water retention in women experiencing premenstrual syndrome or menstruation.

Hypertension, particularly portal hypertension, can also cause hemorrhoids because of the connections between the portal vein and the vena cava which occur in the rectal wall — known as portocaval anastomoses.

Obesity can be a factor by increasing rectal vein pressure. Sitting for prolonged periods of time can cause hemorrhoids. Poor muscle tone or poor posture can result in too much
pressure on the rectal veins.

Pregnancy causes hypertension and increases strain during bowel movements, so hemorrhoids are often associated with pregnancy.

Excessive consumption of alcohol or caffeine can cause hemorrhoids. Both can cause diarrhea. Note that caffeine
ingestion increases blood pressure transiently, but is not thought to cause chronic hypertension. Alcohol can also cause alcoholic liver disease leading to portal hypertension.

Symptoms
==========

Many anorectal problems, including fissures, fistulae, abscesses, or irritation and itching, also called pruritus ani, have similar symptoms and are incorrectly referred to as
hemorrhoids.

Hemorrhoids usually are not dangerous or life threatening. In most cases, hemorrhoidal symptoms will go away within a few days.

Although many people have hemorrhoids, not all experience symptoms. The most common symptom of internal hemorrhoids is bright red blood covering the stool, on toilet paper, or in the toilet bowl.
However, an internal hemorrhoid may protrude through the anus outside the body, becoming irritated and painful. This is known as a protruding hemorrhoid.

Symptoms of external hemorrhoids may include painful swelling or a hard lump around the anus that results when a blood clot This condition is known as a thrombosed external hemorrhoid.

In addition, excessive straining, rubbing, or cleaning around the
anus may cause irritation with bleeding and/or itching, which may produce a vicious cycle of symptoms. Draining mucus may also cause itching.

Hemroids And Pregnancy?

Posted by: admin  :  Category: internal hemroids

I hate to be too graphic but I am 18 weeks along and with my 1st pregnacy never experinced hemroids. I am sure that I have internal hemroids now b/c I am getting blood when I have to strain to go to the bathroom. That is the only time too. So I know it's not something more serious. Any suggestions for what I can do to make this go away? I am getting a few wipes of bright red blood if I have to go and hold it in or am constipated. Serious answers only so side comments. This is embarrasing enough.

It may not be hemroids, it may just be from straining to go to the bathroom. Eat lots of green veggies and get yourself a bran cereal like Kellogs special K (you could even get the one with red berries). Eat a banana a day. You are probably just not getting enough fiber. #2 can become quite interesting when you are pregnant. Later in your pregnancy it will get easier. Constipation is very normal in the first few months. You just have to eat stuff that is going ot make it easier! I went through this(constipation and little blood when wiping) while I was pregnant and I have no hemroids, so that is why I think it might just be that you are not getting enough fiber. Good luck and Congratulations!
